Fine Russian Carving.

      Bogorodsk, settled at least 500 years ago, is an old town, rather small, situated about 40 miles from Moscow. It lies within the heart of a grand Russian forest. Master wood carvers, passing down skills, tools and secrets, have handed down their traditions through many generations. Interestingly, although the town was renamed Noginsk in 1930, it and it's woodcarvers still prefer the name Bogorodsk. After all, the name is compounded from two Russian words meaning "God" and "born of".
      Please take a close look at these lovingly-made, whole wood carvings. With the new commercialism throughout Russia today, this highly evolved carving won't be around for much longer. One of each shown only. Scroll down to see all the bears.
