Fine Russian Carving.

Bogorodsk, settled at least 500 years ago, is an old, rather small, town situated about 40 miles from Moscow. It lies directly in the heart of a grand Russian forest. Here, master wood carvers, with fine-tuned skills, tools and trade secrets, handed down carving traditions throughout a great many generations. Interestingly, although the town was renamed Noginsk in 1930, it, and it's woodcarver,s still prefer the name Bogorodsk. After all, the name is compounded from two Russian words meaning "God" (Bog) and "Born of" (Rod).
As commercialism filters through Russia, high quality carvings simply won't be around much longer, particularly at low prices. In almost all cases, one of each shown only.
