Fort Ross is a former Russian trading establishment on the Pacific California Coast. It was the hub of the southernmost Russian settlements in North America in between 1812 to 1841. It has been designated a National Historic Landmark. The original Fort Ross Chapel collapsed in the great San Francisco earthquake of 1906. It was restored between 1915 and 1917 and due to some errors, was fixed in the late 1950s. A complete reconstruction was done to it in 1973. Fort Ross is now a part of Fort Ross State Historic Park, open to the public. To find out more please visit: http://www.fortrossstatepark.org/
