The original lavish
printing from the first, and only, edition published in 1971 by the
Russian Youth Committee in NY. From the Table of
Contents: On Holy Coronations, Illustrated
History of the Russian Empire, The End of the Time of Troubles, Tsar
Mikhail Feodorovich Romanov, Reign of the Tsar Feodor Romanov, The Reign
of Peter the Great and Catherine I, The Tsar Martyr-Nikolai
Alexandrovich Romanov, and more. Lavishly illustrated in color and black
and white. Full gilt edging (all three sides) and gold illustrated
stamped covers. Gold stamped endpapers with the cipher of Nicholas II.
Text in both Russian and English. 10"x14". [#VC-33]
Condition note: Previous owner name is
stamped 3x on each of the edges for a total of 9x. Same name written in
ink inside front cover. Additional annotation by former owner on a few
photos in back of the book. A translation of Met. Philaret's dedication
and original date of his signature in pencil and the back of the book.
Couple of corners slightly bumped, some wear to cover
at corners and spine ends, all else fine. Together with a 5"x8"
black and white photo of Met. Philaret and an 8 1/2" x 11" white
paper memo in English denouncing film The Passover Plot.
