     Five young women in colorful Russian folk costumes play the game "Blindman's Bluff" with one lucky young man. Highly artistic execution and artistry by Maria Wagner.

Maria Wagner, born in 1951, has worked in the distinctive Fedoskino style since 1970. She currently lives in Marfino, Rusia. Her work is museum-quality as proven by the fact that several of her boxes reside in museums. She specializes in playful scenes and ornate Russian folk costumes. Wagner makes her paintings glow through the application of of gold leaf, oil paints, metallic pigments finished with a brilliant clear lacquer. Inside cover is painted with a floral bouquet.

Oil painting, gold, lacquer, metallic powders, hinged full-size shell with mother of pearl, papier-mache box bottom. 6 1/2" x 4 3/4" x 4 1/4".
Box in brand-new condition, visible only are reflections.
