     The Troika is ready to rush away as the young swain grasps the object of his affection. Their village can be seen in the distance. A troika is a traditional Russian method of travel, especially during the winter, that was developed in the 17th century, and which uses three horses abreast to pull a sleigh.

Hinged shaped box has two separate border decorations. Oil paints, lacquer, papier-mache. 7"x 5" x 1 1/4".
