For over 300 years, skilled artisans would gather at annual trade fairs held in Nizhni-Novgorod to sell unique Russian lacquer ware named after the village. The secrets of production were rigidly passed down from grandfather to father to son and daughter. Here is a selection of nice older quality Khokhloma lacquerware.
