Pallas's Cat is a small wild cat about the size of a house cat. It was named after German naturalist Peter Simon Pallas, who first described the species in 1776. This Siberian wildcat has evolved from over 12 million years ago.

Lomonosov Porcelain has a long history, starting with just its name. When founded in 1744, it was the Imperial Porcelain Factory. In 1925, it became Lomonosov, named after the scientist and writer Mikhail Lomonosov (1711-1765) and finally, in 2005, came full circle and was renamed the Imperial Porcelain Factory (or Manufactory), or IPM, for short.
