A
doll from the limited-edition series produced by the Alexandra Company in Moscow about 12 years ago.
The Merchant Family was the creation of well-known Russian doll designer, Alexandra Koukinova. The dolls were
produced from three separate molds and were made of hand-painted porcelain.
The life-like porcelain face, hands and boots appear as if real.
The exquisitely-detailed 17th century period costume was hand sewn using genuine fur trim and dyed wool.
The name assigned by the artist to this doll is Pelagia, which means "Sea".
This is a beautiful doll and we have only one.
