Man. | Papa stands with hands in pockets wearing a red fur winter cap, yellow coat with flowered lapel and just the hint of a Russian embroidered shirt peeking out. Mama is a traditional Semenov maiden, followed by her service-capped son and their little daughter dressed for winter. A classic style that dates back to the early 1960s. Bogatyr. | Classic warrior set from Semenov. All five pieces have onion-domed red helmets, purple trousers and yellow tunics with singular Semenov-style black fingerprint swirls. | The Legendary Viatka Bogatyr. An extraordinary wood sculpture figure which stands over 16" tall. Each bogatyr (Russian warrior) is completely hand made. To simulate chain mail, hundreds of tiny pieces of straw were painstakingly inlaid. The straw used is a special variety of rye harvested with a scythe, then boiled in a potassium solution to achieve the color of gold.
