"Bath House Maidens"

The Russian Gift Shop

"Bath House Maidens" A long time time (actually before 1991) censorship in the Soviet Union was absolute. This playful, somewhat risque for the time, set of dolls was painted in 1991. The artist, a femaile, was one of the first to explore this liberated theme. Fully hand painted and finished with a shiny lacquer. (Black bars not present on actual dolls.) Signed by the artist and dated 1991, Moscow. 6½", 5 nest. [#AD-BH1]
