The Romanovs.
     A large and impressive early 1990s Romanov portrait doll. Portrait paintings of the most significant members of the ruling family starting with a large portrait of the last Tsar: Nicholas II. Other portraits include Alexander II, Alexander I, Catherine II, Elizaveta Petrovna, Anna Ivanovna, Peter I, Sofia Alexandrovna, Alexey Mikhailovich and finally Mikhail Fyodorovitch. The names of the rulers are written across each doll between their dates of birth and death, and the dates of their rule are written on the backs. A history book in a nesting doll! The backs of all dolls (with the exception of the final two) are decorated with paintings of the Romanov crest - the double-headed eagle.
