| Antonia Dmitrievna Levashova is a Russian artist who creates unique and wonderful pictures. Her medium is not paint on a canvas, but rather multi-colored threads that she sews into a backing. She has worked out her own art techniques. She dyes the silk and wool threads, working during the quiet hours while home alone. Because of a lack of space she places one corner of her canvas stretcher on the stove and the other corner on the window sill. "Stitch by stitch, and the result shows no evidence of stitches." Her work has been exhibited in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kaluga and in her home town of Obninsk. |
