Russian Fairy Tales and Legends.

The heyday of plate collecting coincided with the breakup of the Soviet Union. The confluence of these trends produced a cornucopia of Russian plate production. Easy to produce and market to an overeager group of buyers, eventually over 100 different plates were manufactured. This outflow began in 1988 and finally slowed down after the millennium. Themes included were RUSSIAN LEGENDS (1988), THE FIREBIRD, THE SNOWMAIDEN, THE SEASONS, CHURCHES, ZHOSTOVO, ICONS and many more. It seemed at the time as if the supply of themes was endless!
